This trip is tailored to give you the best possible access to all of Borneo’s Big Game (see endemic elephants, proboscis monkeys, pig tailed macaques & the famous Orang Utans all in their wild natural habitats) with a unbelievable variety of bird life as well at a place with undisputedly the highest concentration of wildlife in South East Asia!
The Kinabatangan River is the longest river in Sabah and the 2nd longest in Malaysia slithering a length of 560kms from the Crocker Range in the highlands of Central Sabah to where it meets the Sulu Sea at Sandakan. The Kinabatangan is known for its remarkable wildlife and unique habitats such as limestone caves at Gomantong, dryland dipterocarp forests, riverine forest, freshwater swamp forest, oxbow lakes and salty mangrove swamps near the coast.
The Kinabatangan contain some of Borneo's (if not South East Asia's) highest concentrations of wildlife. Among these are Borneo's indigenous proboscis monkeys and orangutans, Bornean Pygmy Elephants and Sumatran Rhinoceros and saltwater crocodiles and an incredible variety of bird life.
