Fraser’s Hill - 3 Days / 2 Nights - ex Kuala Lumpur
(Full board (F/B), guiding fees, all transportation, accommodation inclusive all meals B/L/D)
Nestled high up in the montane evergreen forests of the Central Range of Peninsula Malaysia in the state of Pahang, Fraser's Hill is one of Malaysia's earliest hill stations. Located at an elevation of 1,100 meters above sea level, this is undoubtedly Malaysia's and indeed South East Asia's premier montane birding destination. Built by the British over a hundred years ago from an old tin mine, this hill station still retains it atmosphere of a rustic & tranquil highland retreat today.
Numerous quiet shaded forest trails offering anything from easy morning strolls to technical jungle trekking criss- cross the hills and offer excellent venues in which to spot and photograph lesser seen montane bird species.
You can expect to see birds such as silver eared mesias, long tailed sibias, blue winged minlas, orange bellied leafbirds, blue winged leafbirds, streaked spiderhunters, black throated sunbirds, fire tufted barbets, black browed barbets, red headed trogons, chestnut capped laughingthrushes, chestnut crowned laughingthrushes (now known as the malaysian laughingthrush), little pied flycatcher, bronzed drongos, lesser racquet tailed drongos, large cuckooshrikes, common green magpies, mountain bulbuls, mountain fulvettas, black & crimson orioles, rufous browed flycatcher, snowy browed flycatchers, pgymy wren-babblers, white throated fantails, oriental magpie robins, blyth's hawk-eagle, black eagle, javan hawk-cuckoos, collared owlets, house swiftlets, greater yellownaped woodpeckers, lesser yellownaped woodpeckers, grey chinned minivets, black crested bulbuls, blue nuthatches, golden babblers, black eared shrike-babblers, mountain tailorbirds, verditer flycatchers, large niltavas, grey headed canary flycatchers, slaty backed forktails, chestnut naped forktails.
Please note that the Bird listing here is only representative and is far from being comprehensive. If there are species you are specifically searching for, please tell us and we can see what we can do.
